Queensland Youth Orchestras

The 51st John Curro National Concerto Competition Finals Concert marked Queensland Youth Orchestras’ first-ever live broadcast, capturing the final performances of a prestigious national competition in which only one of three finalists would receive a prize. As a Camera Operator, I operated the closest dolly camera, continuously tracking the soloists to capture intimate close-ups and mid-shots that conveyed the emotional intensity of their performances. The role demanded precise movement, sensitivity to the music and anticipation of each soloist’s expression, balancing fluid camera work with the discipline of a live orchestral broadcast.
